- Insurance is invalid for: alcohol consumption, driving on unpaved roads, or if the driver is not included in the insurance policy.
- The vehicle may only be driven on paved roads.
- Driver's license and passport required upon booking request.
- Payment (and deposit) accepted in cash or credit card.
- Prepayment may required in some cases.
- Border crossings: subject to prior approval.
- Driving experience: minimum 1 year.
- Fuel policy: the vehicle must be returned with the same level of fuel as when it was received.
- The deposit is fully refundable upon return of the vehicle, provided there is no damage or expense incurred.
- For inspection upon return, please return the vehicle in the same clean condition as it was received. A fee of €10 may be charged for vehicles returned excessively dirty, depending on the level of soiling.

Additionally

Fines for traffic violations received during the rental of a car are paid by the tenant. The tenant receives the car in good and clean condition. The tenant undertakes to return the car with the same amount of gasoline in the tank as at the time of receiving the car. The mileage for rent is not limited. It is not allowed to use the car for commercial purposes; transport animals; transfer control of the car to persons not included in the contract; drive a car while under the influence of alcohol, drugs or drugs; overload the car; tow another vehicle or tow yourself.

• RENTAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Dear valued customers, please follow our simple rules:

- Please take good care of the rented vehicle to ensure the full return of your security deposit.
- The vehicle may be driven only on paved (asphalt) roads.
- Please do not sit or stand on the roof or trunk to avoid dents.
- Smoking in the vehicle is strictly prohibited.
- The vehicle may be driven exclusively by persons named in the rental agreement.
- Please drive safely and follow the traffic rules! Speeding fines in Montenegro can be between €80 and €2,000.
Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs may result in fines of up to €2,000 and imprisonment of up to 60 days.
- Seat belts must be worn by all passengers at all times.
- Child seats must be used for children under the required age/height.
- Off-road driving is prohibited unless specified in the rental agreement.
- Pets are allowed only with prior permission and protective covers.
- Park the car in safe, legal locations only.
- Do not leave valuables in the car and lock the vehicle when unattended.
- Report any damage or accidents immediately.
- The renter is responsible for all fines, tolls, or damages incurred during the rental period.
- Unauthorized towing, racing, or reckless driving is prohibited.

Basic Traffic Rules in Montenegro:

Montenegro follows standard European traffic rules. Therefore, road signs and markings should be easily understandable for Russian or European drivers. However, please pay attention to the following important points:Driving under the influence of alcohol is strictly prohibited.Headlights must be on at all times while driving.The driver and all passengers must wear seat belts.At roundabouts, priority is given to vehicles already on the roundabout.Some traffic lights have an additional section allowing a right turn when the main signal is red.Speed limits: in the city — 40–50 km/h, outside the city — 50–80 km/h.

Main Fines for Traffic Violations:

Driving under the influence: loss of driving license with fines up to €2,000, or even detention for up to 60 days.Speeding: in urban areas — 40–50 km/h, outside urban areas — 50–80 km/h. Fines range from €80 to €2,000 depending on the extent and location of the violation.Driving without headlights on: fines from €30 to €80.Using a mobile phone while driving: fine of €30.Driver and passengers not wearing seat belts: fines from €40 to €100.Overtaking after a no-overtaking sign or crossing a solid line: fines from €150 to €300.

In Montenegro, when a police officer stops a driver for a traffic violation, the officer may confiscate the driver’s license and the vehicle registration certificate until the fine is paid; in some cases, the offender’s passport may also be temporarily taken. To have your documents returned, you must appear in court at the appointed time, obtain from the judge the exact amount of the fine, and pay it along with any court fees through the bank. Only after this procedure will your documents be returned.
Procedure for Administrative Liability for Traffic ViolationsFines in Montenegro must be paid at a bank or post office. Before paying the fine, the documents of a foreigner — including the vehicle registration certificate and passport — may be temporarily confiscated. These documents are returned either at the place where the administrative liability is applied, if a police officer is present there, or at the local police station. Serious traffic violations are handled in court.Montenegro has a strict anti-corruption policy, so bribing officials is strictly prohibited.

Parking in Montenegro

As in most countries, there are both paid (with barriers and parking tickets) and free parking spaces. Free parking is very limited.If a parking lot has a barrier, payment is made upon exit. When entering, take a ticket indicating your arrival time. Upon leaving, present the ticket and pay for the parking time. The cost of such parking is on average €1 per hour.

Parking Payment by Phone / Mobile App

In many areas, you can pay for parking using your mobile phone.To pay, send an SMS with your vehicle number and the parking zone code, or use the official parking app if available.Payment is made per hour, and you can usually extend the parking time remotely without returning to your car.Keep a receipt or confirmation on your phone, as parking inspectors may ask for proof of payment.Tips:Free parking spots are rare, especially in city centers.Always check the parking signs for allowed hours and payment methods.Failing to pay or overstaying may result in fines.

Parking Challenges in Montenegro

Parking can be especially difficult in densely populated cities, particularly during holidays.In coastal cities, special tow trucks — known as “spiders” — operate around the clock to remove improperly parked vehicles.The fine for towing to a special parking lot is €80–120, plus €5 per day for storage.If the driver manages to move the car before it is lifted, only a fine of €20 for the attempted towing is charged.Fines must be paid within 8 days. If this deadline is missed, the case will go to court, and the fine will increase by €200.It is best not to park under a “No Parking” sign, even if other cars are parked there — fines can be substantial. Towing fines can range from €80 to €200. The same rules apply to parking in spaces reserved for people with disabilities.If you want to avoid parking fees, you can look for free spots in nearby courtyards and walk to your destination.Be careful!

Speed Enforcement in Montenegro

In areas where drivers can reach higher speeds, there are now more police officers patrolling in unmarked, civilian-looking vehicles. These cars are equipped with speed measuring devices.They focus on drivers who significantly exceed the speed limit (by 30–50 km/h). Officers follow the vehicle from behind, record the violation, then overtake and pull the driver over.

Following Distance

Drivers are required to maintain a safe distance from the vehicle in front traveling in the same direction. The law defines what is considered a safe distance, ensuring that the driver can stop the vehicle in time to avoid a collision.

At Intersections

A driver approaching an intersection must maintain a speed that allows them to stop before entering and yield to vehicles that have the right of way. In urban areas, it is prohibited to drive faster than 50 km/h or above the speed indicated on traffic signs.
